Kerry Anne Boer is an Australian sculptor, writer, and creative force whose work bridges the ancient and the modern, the digital and the tactile. Born in 1957 and raised in the northern suburbs of Sydney, she was educated through the New South Wales public school system and has worked alongside her husband in the Sydney stone industry for over four decades.

Kerry’s passion for stone sculpture was ignited on Christmas Eve, 2011, when her Brookvale stonemasonry workshop became the first in Australia to import a state-of-the-art 7-axis robotic stone milling machine. From that moment, her love affair with natural stone—and its infinite expressive possibilities—was set in motion.

A self-taught “Cyber Sculptor,” Kerry creates each piece by first sculpting in virtual clay using advanced 3D software, transforming inspiration from life into digital maquettes. Her sculptures begin as raw quarry blocks of marble, limestone, granite, sandstone, bluestone, or onyx. These are initially milled using custom-designed, stone-specific diamond tools operated by her robotic systems. What emerges is a rough form that Kerry then lovingly hand-carves and polishes using traditional techniques—melding technology and touch to create works of lasting beauty.

In 2012, she studied Anatomy for Artists with Scott Eaton of London, UK, and in 2021 completed a Master of Arts with Excellence at UNSW Art & Design (COFA). Kerry is a full member of The Sculpture Society and a passionate advocate for creativity that is both deeply personal and boldly innovative.

Her work is inspired by movement—particularly Latin American, Ballroom, and Salsa dance—alongside poetry, scent, humour, the interplay of water and light, high fashion, and the soft, fluid curves of the female form.
